2012-2013 Biomimicry Student Design Challenge (Extended to November 2nd)

Start:
Thu, 2012/09/13

Our annual university-level design challenge is now open, and this year we invite student teams from around the world to use biomimicry to design sustainable solutions to improve water access and management. Water issues are quickly becoming some of the most critical global challenges impacting health, security, and sustainability.

The Biomimicry Design Challenge is the only design competition that trains students in biomimicry, provides the opportunity to address a global sustainability challenge, and awards substantial cash prizes to the teams that create the best biomimetic innovations. This year, up to $11,000 in cash prizes will be awarded over two rounds of competition, including a $5,000 Grand Prize to help the winning team take their design to the next stage of development.

Faculty mentorship for all students is strongly suggested; if you are a university educator, please consider inviting a team of students to work with you on the Challenge as a course or independent project. Learn more by watching our Challenge video and register today. Registration closes November 2, 2012.
