Bay Area Biomimicry Network October 2013 Swarm

Start:
Wed, 2013/10/09
Location:
San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers, CA

This month, we will be hunting for biomimicry-inspiring plants at the San Franciso Conservatory of Flowers, and use the treasures we find for a hands on exploration of nature's brilliance. For instance, one challenge may be to find the Victorian Orchid within the Conservatory, and then discuss which of nature's strategies that species thrives at; another may be to discover a plant that excels by "integrating the unexpected", "fitting form to function", or using other design lessons from nature. Jane Scurich from the Conservatory will help facilitate.

This event is especially suited for those who are brand new to biomimicry, including young students and their parents. It will be facilitated by Deb Grove of the Conservatory and the BABN team.
