BioInspired! So What? Now What!

Humans have a long history of taking inspiration from nature to find extraordinary solutions to intractable or new challenges. Biomimicry is an emerging discipline that is now formalizing this approach. The University of Akron and The Cleveland Institute of Art, in affilliation with The Biomimicry Institute and the Great Lake Biomimicry Collaborative are offering the first of its kind PhD training in Biomimicry. What kind of background do I need?

A bachelors degree (including but not limited to one of the following: science, engineering,design, business or law) from an accredited college or university, and the experience and desire to work in a dynamic interdisciplinary environment that blends design, biology and business to discover and apply the principles of living systems to human centered problems.
