The Circular Economy Club (CEC) York x York Design Week x Biomimicry Innovation Lab

Workshop Facilitator - Richard James MacCowan FRSA - founder of the non-profit Biomimicry UK and Biomimicry Innovation Lab. With a first-class honours in real estate finance and development complimented with distinction in urban design. The shift to biomimetic innovation has broadened his design skills to allow him to work with global organisations focusing on the technical and sustainable innovation in the urban, food and manufacturing sectors. Richard is also a noted keynote speaker and has appeared on television and radio around the world. 

Alongside a mentor and organiser for Circular Economy Club York, Richard is an ambassador for the Circular Economy Institute whilst sitting on advisory boards for the Biomimicry Institute and the Climate-KIC network focusing on nature-based solutions. His spare time is taken up with his young family and collection of house plants. Richard cannot ride a horse despite having an equine technology startup!
