BioInspired! So What? Now What!

En cette veille de Noël, je voulais enfin vous annoncer la sortie de mon livre "Le vivant comme modèle, la voie du biomimétisme" chez Albin-Michel, préfacé par Nicolas Hulot et Jean-Marie Pelt (qui nous a quittés cette nuit, hommage à lui).

On this Christmas Eve, I wanted to finally announce the release of my book Living as a model, the way of biomimicry published by Albin-Michel, foreword by Nicolas Hulot and Jean-Marie Pelt (who left us this night, in tribute to him).

2 ans d'écriture pour transmettre à la fois tout le potentiel du biomimétisme, à travers mon émerveillement pour toutes les espèces et les écosystèmes qui nous entourent; mais aussi pour explorer ce qui empêche cette approche si pleine de bon sens de nous aider à construire une humanité redevenue compatible avec la planète qui la porte.

The result of two years of writing, the book conveys the potential of biomimicry through my wonder for all species and ecosystems that surround us, but also to explore what prevents this approach so full of common sense from helping us build a humanity compatible with the planet that supports us.

Pourtant même si les exponentielles continuent de monter, les Principes du Vivant expérimentés depuis des millions d'années par les forêts ou les récifs coralliens nous aideront à créer la civilisation suivante, si nous parvenons à ranimer notre sentiment d'appartenance et d'interdépendance avec la grande famille de la biosphère, en nous reconnectant à ce qui grouille et s'agite en nous et autour de nous...

Yet even if the exponential curves continue to mount, the Principles of Living exemplified by forests or coral reefs over millions of years will help us create the next civilization, if we can rekindle our sense of belonging and interdependence with the great family of the biosphere, reconnecting us to what is crawling and stirring in us and around us..
