October 11/2012 Update

The BID Community site has been receiving increased attention recently, unfortunately from spammers.  The attack method has changed from spam 'robots' to humans who are able to answer the CAPTCHA, provide a valid e-mail address, process the registration confirmation e-mail and complete the registration process.  Filters block most of the attempts and I catch almost all of the rest.  This week, two spammers were able to slip through early in the morning.  Although they posted some junk, they did not have access to e-mails of other registered users.  Procedures have been implemented where new user registrations are blocked from accessing the site until I individually approve them.

One of the concerns that I hear repeatedly is the large volume of information relating to biomimicry and bio-inspired design.  One of the goals of the BID Community is to filter and organize this information to increase the value.  If you have not done so already, please have a look at Requesting Feedback on Categorizing Process! and provide your comments.
