BioInspired! So What? Now What!

Dr. Shoshanah Jacobs at the University of Guelph is building a database of bio-inspired innovations to support research on the process of biomimetic innovation and also encourage development of more in-depth case studies.  Currently, the database contains 385 case; fifty interviews to validate the cases have been completed as of August 8/2013.

Anyone registered on the BID Community site can help make the database complete and representative (registration is free).  BioM Innovation Database (accessible through the BioM DB link in the top menu bar) contains:

• instructions on submitting new cases
• an extract of the current database listing the organization/institution/developer and the name of the innovation (attached Excel spreadsheet)
• a list of proposed cases posted by BID Community users

Comments can be added to individual cases or to the BioM Innovation Database Discussions forum topic if they are of a more general nature.
